DHAKA: Ending all speculations, the capital market regulatory body Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) is set to approve the Chinese consortium as a strategic partner of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). 

BSEC held an urgent meeting in this regard in its Agargaon office in Dhaka on Monday noon (February 26).

Earlier on Thursday, the DSE sent to the BSEC a proposal to make the consortium of Shenzhen Stock Exchange and Shanghai Stock Exchange its strategic partner after the bourse’s board reconfirmed selection of the consortium on Monday.

After the meeting, several DSE directors confirmed Banglanews that that commission has given green signal to Chinese consortium. However, the final approval will come after completing legal procedures. 

Earlier on Feb 19, DSE board approved joint Chinese consortium (Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock exchanges).
