DSE, CSE break 7-day losing trend

DHAKA: Country's stock market marked gain in its price indices on Tuesday (December 18), breaking a seven-day losing streak.

After seven-day correction, DSEX, the core index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), rose over 15.58 points only to stand at 5,233.59 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 98,207 with volume of transactions at Tk 3,340.94 million.

Of the issues traded, 180 advanced, 103 declined and 57 remained unchanged.

Meghna Life Insurance Co Ltd topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 153.75 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were United Power Generations and Distribution Company Ltd, IFAD Autos Limited, Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Sonali Aansh Industries Ltd, Anlimayarn Dying Limited, Rupali Life Insurance Co Ltd, Khulna Power Company Ltd, BFS Thread Dying Limited and Western Marine Dying Limited. 

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CASPI, the overall share index, climbed up to 1,6047.23 by gaining over 18.87 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 118 gained, 87 declined and 36 remained unchanged.
