DSE, CSE start week in green

DHAKA:  Trading at the country’s bourses--Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- started the week with gains on Sunday (Dec 23), the first trading day of the week.

At the end of today’s trading, DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, rose over 16.45 points to stand at 5281.77points.

Trade deals stood at 102,291 with transaction at Tk 3,536.39 million. Of the issues traded, 118 advanced, 184 declined and 41 remained unchanged.

KPCL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 205.17 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were UPGDCL, IFADAUTOS, PTL, SONARGAON, SQURPHARMA, NHFIL, DAFODILCOM, INTECH and BEXIMCO.

Top five gainers, by close price, at the main bourse were QUASEMIND, BDAUTOCA, KPCL    , LEGACYFOOT and FINEFOODS.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Overall Share Index (CASPI) climbing up to 16,198.30 by gaining over 59.33 points.

Out of the issues traded, 95 gained, 110 declined and 32 remained unchanged.
