DSE, CSE open week higher

DHAKA: Trading at the country’s bourses--Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- started the week high on Sunday (Jan 13), the first trading session of the week.

At the end of today’s trading, DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, rose over 62.91 points or 1.08 percent to stand at 5860.21 points.
 
Trade deals stood at 208,927 with transaction at Tk 9,739.43 million. Of the issues traded, 228 advanced, 76 declined and 40 remained unchanged.

BBSCABLES topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 427.69 million having changed hands.

Top five gainers, by close price, at the main bourse were SAIHAMTEX, SONARBAINS, AGRANINS, PARAMOUNT and UNITEDINSV.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 17,945 points by gaining over 1 percent.

Out of the issues traded, 179 gained, 70 declined and 25 remained unchanged. 

Shares worth Tk 652.36 million were traded on the day.
