DHAKA: After an eight-day suspension due to workers’ demonstration, work in ready-made garment factories in Savar and Ashulia Industrial areas is going on in full swing.

Hundreds of workers were seen entering into respective workstation in the areas amid the presence of huge law enforcers.

However, Banglanews correspondent saw a notice ‘No Work No Pay’ hanged at the gate of a factory.

Sana Saminur Rahman, superintendent of industrial police (SP) in Dhaka-1, said no untoward incident was reported yet. Workers are doing their duties peacefully.

But additional police have been deployed in different areas of Savar and Ashulia to thwart untoward incidents.

Earlier on January 13, the government announced a revised wage structure grade-wise for the RMG workers following their weeklong demonstrations.

The revised wage structure will be effective retrospectively from December 2018 and would be re-adjusted with their salaries of January, according to commerce minister Tipu Munshi.
