DHAKA: Key share price index in the country’s both bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- closed in a positive note on Tuesday (Jan 15).

The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 27.04 points or 0.46 percent to reach 5,863.27 at the close of trading. 

Of the issues traded, 159 gained, 147 declined and 38 remained unchanged.

Shares worth Tk 11,393 million changed hands at the DSE on the third trading session of the week.

Khulna Power Company Limited topped the turnover leaders with 14.58 million shares worth Tk 456.22 million traded.

United Finance Ltd was also the biggest gainer of the day, posting 10 percent rise in its share prices, while Agroni Insurance Co Ltd was the worst loser, dropping by 9.52 percent.    

The CSE overall share index, CASPI also gained 0.41 percent to reach 17,958 points at the close today. 

Of the 235 issues traded, 131 advanced, 119 suffered loss and 27 remained unchanged.

The value of the traded issues was Tk 415.4 million.
