DHAKA: State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid Bipu said the United States and Russia have shown interest in more gas mining excavation here.

The ministry is considering the matter, he added.

Bipu was talking to the reporters after a meeting with US ambassador in Dhaka Earl Robert Miller at the Bidyut Bhaban Sunday (Feb 10).

“The US has observed potentiality to invest in Bangladesh’s energy sector. Bangladesh achieved satisfactory progress in infrastructural development and labor safety,” said Earl Robert Miller. 

Bipu told reporters he has discussed with the US envoy about power, infrastructure and digital economy. 

The minister added that he is planning a visit to US, in this regard.
