DSE, CSE witnessing gain

DHAKA: Trading on the country's both bourses - Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange - is underway with upward trends in early hours on Monday (March 25).

The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 32.83 points or 0.59 percent to 5,544.91 at 12:28pm.
 
The two other indices at DSE also edged higher till then. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went down by 6.68 points or 0.52 percent to 1,288.52.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also advanced 10.96 points or 0.55 percent to stand at 1,983 points.

Of the issues traded, 217 gained, 74 declined and 47 remained unchanged. 
 
Shares worth Tk 1,876.358 million changed hands till then at the DSE.

Singer Bangladesh Limited was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 399.81 million changing hands followed by Grameenphone, British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company.  

The port city bourse - Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) - also witnessed a downward trend in the early with its Selective Category Index gaining 39.52 points or 0.23 percent to 16,928 at 12:29 pm.

Of the issues 157 traded till then, 82 gained, 47 declined and 28 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 65.57 million.
