DHAKA: Trading on the country's both bourses - Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange - is underway with upward trends in early hours on Monday (April 15), first trading session of this week.

The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 19.42 points or 0.36 percent to 5,345.81 at 12:35 pm.
 
The two other indices at DSE also edged higher till then. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went up by 3.60 points or 0.29 percent to 1,236.82.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also advanced 5.75 points or 0.30 percent to stand at 1908.72 points.

Of the issues traded, 188 gained, 88 declined and 55 remained unchanged.
 
Shares worth Tk 1188.98 million changed hands till then at the DSE.

Fortune Shoes ltd was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 269.95 million changing hands followed by Monno Ceramics, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company.

The port city bourse - Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) - also witnessed a upward trend in the early with its Selective Category Index gaining 2.35 points to 11,565 at 12:34 pm.

Of the issues 136 traded till then, 71 gained, 41 declined and 24 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Th 35.14 million.
