DSE, CSE see fall in early hours

DHAKA: Share price indices at the country's both bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) --witnessed negative trend in early hours of trading on Tuesday (May 14). 

The DSE benchmark index, DSEX went down by 26.97 points or 0.51 percent to reach 5,220.84 points at about 12:05 pm.
 
The two other indices also saw downward trend. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) shed over 5.67 points or 5.67 percent to stand at 1,204.69 points.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips lost 7.95 points or 0.43 percent to stand at 1828.44 points.

Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at Tk 1001.50 million on the DSE, riding on Fortune Shoes and Grameen Phone.
 
Fortune Shoes Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 68.14 million changing hands followed by Grameen Phone and Legacy Footwear.

Of the issues traded till then, 68 gained, 222 declined and 42 remained unchanged.

The CSE key index, CSCX lost 88.49 points or 0.55 percent to stand at 15,966.87, also at about 11:49 am today.

Of the 154 issues traded till then, 25 gained, 101 declined and 28 remained unchanged with turnover worth of Tk 81.83 million.
