The companies have been ordered to stop production, supply and retail sales of the products before retaking licence by ensuring quality.

The companies also have been ordered to withdraw the products from market within 48 hours since issuing of the BSTI press release.

Moreover, stock of the banned products and commercial publicities for these were ordered to stop.

However, BSTI authorities conducted drive and collected samples of 406 products before beginning of Ramadan. In lab test, 52 of those were marked substandard.

The companies were then served show-cause notice as well.

Action has been taken against the companies as they didn't reply the notice within the deadline, said BSTI Certification Marks Section Deputy Director Reazul Haque.
