DHAKA: Consumers may have to count increased price for edible oils as local and import taxes were proposed on soyabean, palm, sunflower and mastered oils in the national budget for fiscal year 2019-20.

The Tk 5,23,190 crore budget was placed at the Jatiya Sangsad around 3pm Thursday (June 13).

The edible oils were exempted from tax since long.

However, this year's budget size is equivalent to 18.1 percent of total GDP.
