BENAPOLE (JASHORE): Export and import through Benapole port remained suspended as part of assaulting a ruling party leader also a C&F trader.

Activities at the port came to a halt around 1pm Monday (July 1).

Benapole C&F Staff Association Secretary General Nasir Uddin told Banglanews that Kamal Hossain was staying at the check-post for a business purpose.
Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) Nayek Zillur Rahman beat him and commented derogatory about his party.    

Traders have halted export-import demanding withdrawal of the BGB official.

Higher authorities have been informed about the incident, said Benapole Check-post ICP Camp Subedar Baki Billah.

Benapole Port Deputy Director (Traffic) Prodosh Kanti Das told Banglanews that efforts are on to resume trade upon discussion.
