Bangladesh joins Medical & Pharma Fair in Saudi Arabia

DHAKA: Bangladesh has joined Medical & Pharmaceuticals Trade Fair in Riyadh of Saudi Arabia that started on Monday (Sep 30).
 
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has arranged the three-day expo and its third annual conference. 

The Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh informed this in a press release received here on Tuesday (October 1).

Chief Executive Officer of the SFDA Dr. Hisham bin Saad Al Jadhey inaugurated the fair at the International Convention Center in Riyadh. 

More than 200 institutions, including 120 local institutions and 80 organizations, from 20 countries are participating in the fair.

While visiting the fair, Bangladesh's ambassador to Saudi Arabia Golam Masih said that there is a demand for medicines and food items of Bangladesh in Saudi Arabia. Bangladesh's economic and trade relations with Saudi Arabia are increasing day by day. 

“The participation of the fair will increase the familiarity of Bangladesh's medicines and food products in the Saudi Arabia market that will help increase country's drug and food exports there”.

He said there is a huge demand for garments made by Bangladesh in Saudi Arabia, which is increasing day by day. The Embassy is providing all kinds of cooperation to the businessmen.

In collaboration with the Export Development Bureau and the Embassy, several organizations of Bangladesh have participated in the fair. It will come to an end October 2.

Minister of the Embassy SM Anisul Haque, Economic Minister Md Abul Hasan and first secretary (press) Fakhrul Islam visited the fair.
