German businessmen urged to invest in Bangladesh

DHAKA: Mentioning the investment-friendly environment and policies that exists in Bangladesh, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen invited German entrepreneurs and businessmen to invest in Bangladesh.
 
The minister made the urges in a meeting with German businessmen in Berlin, according to a press release sent from the Foreign Ministry on Friday (October 18).

AK Abdul Momen held meetings with the German Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade (BWA) leaders in Berlin on Thursday (Oct 17). 

In the meetings, the Minister mentioned the investment-friendly policies in Bangladesh and the opportunities in the special economic zones. German car makers could take the opportunity to manufacture cars in a special zone.

The Foreign Minister also attended the Seventh Bangladesh conference, arranged by Bangladesh Affairs Forum, started in Germany’s Berlin Wednesday (Oct 16).

At the conference in Germany, Vision-2021 and Vision-2041 of the Government of Bangladesh were presented. 

He also called for the international community to play a strong role in resolving the Rohingya crisis.

The Foreign Minister also held a meeting with Member of German Federal Parliament and Chairman of the South-Asian Parliamentary Group Tobias Pflüger. 

In the meeting, stakeholders were also requested to take steps to ensure the fair value of garment products made in Bangladesh.
