DHAKA:  A total of 4,159 metric tons of onions have arrived in Bangladesh on Thursday (December 5).

Different importers imported through different ports in the country.

According to a release of the Ministry of Commerce issued on Friday (December 6), 1,227 MT onions entered the country through Teknaf, and 2,932 MT through Chattogram Sea Port, making the total amount.

However, 1,227 MT came from Myanmar, 384 MT from China, 84 MT from Egypt and 2,500 MT from Turkey.

According to the commerce ministry, this import would continue till the supply of onion and its price becomes normal in the country.
