DHAKA: Chairman of PHP family Sufi Mizanur Rahman, who has recently been honored with Ekushey Padak for making contribution to social welfare, met interim prime minister of Malaysia Mahathir Mohamad on Wednesday (Feb 26).

The successful entrepreneur along with his son and Group Managing Director (MD) Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury met with the veteran politician Mahathir Mohamad. 

Sufi Mizanur Rahman received the Ekushey Padak from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on February 20.

The eminent philanthropist was earlier honored with many awards including Business Person of the Year, Pride of Chittagong, Corporate Social Responsibility Award and Mother Teresa International Award. 

On February 25, Mahathir Mohamad submitted his resignation as Malaysian Prime Minister, but was asked to stay on as interim prime minister by the country's monarch.
