DHAKA: All Markets, super shops, shopping malls and retail shops across the country will remain closed from March 25 to 31 as a precautionary measure to contain coronavirus infection in the country.

Bangladesh Shop Owners Association took the decision in a meeting this evening.

However, the vegetable shops/markets, shops of essential commodities and medicine shops will remain open during this time.  

Bangladesh has so far recorded two deaths and 27 infections from Covid-19, a pandemic announced by the World Health Organization. Five of patients recovered. 

The fast spreading coronavirus has claimed more than 13,671 lives and infected 318,379 people across the world, according to Worldometer.
