The government proposed an allocation of Tk 88,161 crore for education sector in the national budget the for 2023-24 fiscal year (FY24), which was Tk 81,448 crore in the revised budget for FY 2022-23.

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal allocated Tk 34,772 crore for primary and mass education, Tk 42,838 crore for secondary and higher secondary education and Tk 10,602 crore for Technical and Vocational and Madrasah education.

While placing the national budget for the fiscal year 2023-24 in the Jatiya Sangsad, the minister said
