No worries about children’s education

Mimmahar is the daughter of late Azahar Ali of Daudpur village of Birampur upazila of Dinajpur. The father was a farmer by profession. Mimmahar is the youngest of three siblings. Although the elder sibling was able to study with difficulty, death of father blocked her education,

When Mimmahar was 18 years old, she got married. Husband Masud Rana is also a farmer. They hardly manage their food.

To be self-reliant, she got admitted to the sewing training centre of Shuvosangho. However, the obstacle persisted in becoming self-reliant. To clear the way, Bashundhara Group handed over a sewing machine to her.

Mahmuda Akter is the daughter of Mabud Shahar, a farmer of Katla village in the same upazila. Mahmuda was married when she was an eighth grader. She currently has a three-year-old son. Her husband Anarul Islam worked as a mason and ran the family. Suddenly, Anarul, the sole earner of the family, became physically ill and lost his ability to work.

The family is stuck in poverty. It is impossible for Mahmuda, who is unemployed, to collect her husband's medical expenses and run the family. So, she got enrolled into the Shuvosangho sewing training centre.  After receiving a sewing machine from Bashundhara Group, Mahmuda is now optimistic about her better future. She said that Bashundhara helped her in changing her fortune.

“Now, I will be able to afford my husband's treatment alongside household requirements. Thanks to Bashundhara Group for standing by the helpless like me,” she said.
