JUST goes sine die as BCL man killed

JESSORE: The Jessore University of Science and Technology  (JUST) authorities on Monday declared the university closed for an indefinite period after a Chhatra League activist was killed in infighting.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the university Hayatuzaman Mukul confirmed the matter to banglanews in the evening.

He also said the male students were directed to leave halls within 9:00pm and the female students within 9:00am Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, a Chhatra League activist of JUST unit was chopped to death around 2:30pm following a dispute over establishing supremacy in the campus.

The deceased was identified as Naimul Islam Riyadh, 23, son of one Monirul Islam, hailed from Segunbagicha area of Dhaka, also a fourth year student of Environmental Science Department of the university.

Assistant Superintendent of Police of Jessore Reshma Sharmin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
