Stamford chair on 6-day remand

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed Dr Hannan Firoz, Trustee Board Chairman of Stamford University, on a 6-day remand.

Magistrate Hasibul Haque of CMM court granted the remand for his alleged connection with an attempt to murder of Awami League central committee member, also former Chhatra League president Enamul Haque Shamim.

Inspector of Detective Police M Shamsuddin produced Dr Hannan Firoz before the court with a 10-day remand plea and the court granted 6-day remand.

Earlier in the day, Detective Police arrested Dr Hannan Firoz from his Dhanmondi residence early Wednesday.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Media Centre Saidur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
