JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY: A female student of Statistics Department of the university was suspended for filing false complaint against a male student of the university.

The decision came from a syndicate meeting considering the investigation committee report on August 23.

In the allegation, Statistics Department student Sumaiya Mariam Eva alleged that Chemistry Department student Prafullah Mandal harassed her sexually.

Later, the probe committee submitted the report on April 24 stating that the allegation of Eva was false and she tried to harass Prafullah influencing proctor office and probe committee as well.

The university syndicate suspended Eva for one academic session and released Prafullah from the allegation. They also apologized for charging him.
