DHAKA UNIVERSITY: Dhaka University (DU) authorities have detained at least 30 admission seekers for cheating in the admission test of 'Gha' unit of the varsity on Friday.

Sources said that amongst the detainees, 18 were caught by teachers during cheating in the examination hall and rest 12 were directly held by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) from different examination centres in and outside of DU campus.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, DU proctor Amzad Ali said that the admission seekers were caught for cheating during the DU entry examination.

However, a total of 105,516 admission seekers appeared for the exam under the Faculty Social Science to battle for 1,416 seats on Friday.

The tests were held in 96 centers across the city alongside DU campus.
