DHAKA: The 49th Convocation of Dhaka Convention will be held on January 13, 2015, DU Registrar Syed Rezaur Rahman told banglanews Tuesday.

Dr. Francis Gurry, president of World Intellectual Property Organization, will attend the function as the convocation speaker. He will also be honored with the Doctor of Laws there.

Rezaur Rahman said that the decision on the convocation was taken at a syndicate meeting on September 30 with no fixed date. After talking to Francis on Monday, the date was fixed for January 13, 2015.

Main event of the convocation will be held on the Physical Education Centre playground of the university.

The last convocation of the university was held on April 7 this year.
