ASA University students vandalize vehicles in city

DHAKA: Students of ASA University damaged a number of vehicles in the city’s Shyamoli intersection area on Saturday noon protesting the assault of fellow students by some transport workers.

Hundreds of students of the university halted all the counter service buses in front of Shyamoli Shishu Mela at around 2:50pm and damaged at least six vehicles, disrupting traffic on the busy Mirpur road for an hour.

Students said halted the Badhan Paribahan buses as some staff of the Paribahan beat up three students of the university, leaving them injured.

A police team, led by Deputy Police Commissioner of Tejgaon Zone Chowdhury Monzurul Kabir, charged baton on the students and took the situation under control.
