DU student jailed for RU admission test forgery

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY: A mobile court here on Wednesday awarded one-year jail to a Dhaka University (DU) student for forgery in Rajshahi University admission test.

The wrongdoer is Akhtarul Islam Abir, a seventh-semester student of Dhaka University, hailed from Badarganj of Rangpur.

Sources told banglanews that Abir was giving proxy of an admission seeker.

Confirming the matter, university proctor professor Tariqul Hasan said that authorities detained the DU student for forgery at university’s admission test on fourth day.

Later, they have handed over Abir to the mobile court and the court punished him one-year jail, he added. The sentenced DU student is now under Matihar Thana police custody.
