DHAKA: The preliminary test of the 35th BCS (Bangladesh Civil Service) will be held across the country on February 6, 2015 simultaneously.

The exam will begin at 9:30am at all centers across the country’s seven divisions--Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet and Rangpur.

Ikram Ahmed, Chairman of Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC), made the disclosure to banglanews on Thursday.

A record number of 244,104 applicants--the highest-ever in the history of BPSC--have registered for the test against 1,803 posts. A total of 135 applicants will vie for against each post.

Ikram said the exam was scheduled to hold by the second half of December this year.

But the decision to hold the examination on February 2015 had been taken considering the finalization and assurance of proper examinations management and adequate test centers distribution for the highest number of applicants, he added.

Exam center locations, seat allocations and other intrusions will be published on website of the BPSC and newspapers later, revealed the chairman.

According to the 35th BCS test advertisement published on September 23, the two-hour preliminary multiple-choice examinations (MCQ) will carry 200 marks.

Earlier, BPSC examinations controller AEM Nesar Uddin told banglanews that some 155,244 applicants applied for the test in Dhaka division while 21,873 at Rajshahi, 20,469 at Chittagong, 14,078 at Khulna, 16,856 at Rangpur, 9,858 at Sylhet and 5,729 applicants registered for the test in Barisal division.
