DHAKA: The Secondary School Certificate and its equivalent examinations will now begin on February 4 as the opening exams scheduled for February 2 have been shifted to February 6.

The exams will begin at 9:00 and end at 12:00pm on Friday.

The exams have been shifted due to the nationwide hartal of BNP-led 20-party alliance, said Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid at a press conference in Secretariat on Sunday noon.

Bangla 1st part, Sahaj Bangla 1st part, Bangla Language and Bangladesh Culture under eight general education boards and Bangla-2 (1921), and Bangla-2 (8121) under the vocational board will be held on Friday.

Quran-E-Majid and Tajweed exam under Madrasa board have also been rescheduled for the day.

Nahid said the decision to shift the examinations has been taken considering the security to the students.
