Ispahani Public School wins Robi-Drishty debate

DHAKA: Chittagong Ispahani Public School has become the champion of Robi-Drishty debate competition for 2016.

The final debate was recently held at Theatre Institute Auditorium at port city, said a press release on Thursday (September 1).

Robi as part of its Corporate Responsibility initiative has been sponsoring this debate competition for the last 10 years, the release added.

A total of 58 schools from Chittagong, Cox Bazar and Rangamati participated in the competition. Silver Bells Girls High School became the runner-up of the competition and Fardin Musfirad Jaima of the same school was adjudged to be the best debater of the final event.

MP Wasika Ayesha Khan was present at the event as the chief guest while Robi’s Chief People and Corporate Officer (CCPO) Matiul Islam Nowshad was present as the special guest.

Wasika Ayesha Khan said that, “Today’s young generation will be responsible for running the country in future. In order for them to carry out their responsibility properly, they need to start learning about how to think logically”.

“As long as our young generation approaches life in a logical manner, nobody can derail them. I thank Robi and Drishty for facilitating the process”, she added.

Robi CCPO said, “In order to be a capable leader, one needs to be able to speak well and be able to think positively. We think that Drishty over the years have done a tremendous job in encouraging the young generation to become the enlightened leaders of tomorrow”.

He further said, “Robi is indeed proud to be associated with this great initiative and we certainly look forward to the opportunity of continuing our support in the future”.

President of Drishty Chittagong Masud Bakul presided over the final debate program.

Prothom Alo’s Joint Editor Biswajit Chowdhury, Robi’s Cluster Market Director for the Eastern Cluster, Nazir Ahmed, Principal of Sunshine Grammar School Safia Gazi Rahman, Drishty Chittagong’s General Secretary, Shahidul Islam, Joint Secretary Saber Shah, Organizing Secretary Saifuddin Munna and Debate Secretary Kazi Arafat were also present at the event.
