DHAKA: The High Court (HC) on Wednesday issued a rule upon authorities concerned asking to explain within four weeks why they should not be directed to evaluate the exam papers of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) by qualified and experienced teachers.

In the rule, the HC also asked the authorities to explain why defendants’ inaction in this regard should not be declared illegal and why they should not be directed to give enough time to the examiner for the task.

An HC bench of Justice Moyeenul Islam Choudhury and Justice JBM Hassan issued the rule in response to a writ petition filed by Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh.

Advocate Manzil Morshed moved for the petitioners in court.

Education secretary and chairpersons of all education boards were made respondents to the rule.

Morshed further said that hundreds of students are getting more marks in the reevaluation of their exam papers after the results are published.
