CHANDPUR:  Condemning New Zealand mosque shootings, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni urged everyone to fight terrorism and militancy with concerted efforts.

“Not a single country of the world is free from extremism, terrorism and militancy. Such a hideous incident happened in a peaceful country like New Zealand, which is really sickening,” Dr Dipu Moni told on Saturday (March 16).

She was chairing annual sports competition and award distribution program of Chandpur Government College.

In her speech as the chief guest, she mentioned Bangladesh national cricket team who narrowly escaped the mosque shootings, thanking the Almighty for the safety.

She wished full recovery of the injured alongside extending sympathy for the bereaved families who lost their loved ones.

She handed over the awards to students at the end of the sports.

Local Awami League leaders were present at the function.
