Conference on Higher Education opens at ULAB Keynote Speaker Professor Vincent Chang

Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) is hosting a 2-day conference on 22-23 August at the varsity auditorium in Dhanmondi of the capital.

The program is titled “1st CETL Conference on Higher Education In Pursuit of Quality in Higher Education: Challenges Ahead.’

Professor Kazi Shahidullah, PhD, Chairman of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh was present as Chief Guest whereas Professor Vincent Chang, PhD, Vice Chancellor of BRAC University graced the event as the Keynote Speaker. ULAB Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. HM Jahirul Haque delivered the welcome speech.

Chief Guest of the conference UGC chairman, putting emphasis on quality education said: “The most important problem in higher education is quality. This problem exists in both of the public and private universities. We have no quantitative problems in higher education. If we had that problem, we wouldn't have so many universities”

On the first day of the conference, Prof. Dr. M. Omar Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of the Independent University Bangladesh (IUB); Professor Syeda Tahmina Akhtar, Director of Institute of Education and Research at Dhaka University; Professor Imran Rahman, Dean of the ULAB School of Business and Special Advisor to the ULAB Board of Trustees and Professor Rezwan Khan, Director, Institute of Engineering and Scientific Research, United International University (UIU) participated in the plenary session where Professor Imran Rahman Chaired the session.

Around 50 scholars from home and abroad participated in this conference. They participated in   different academic session.
