DHAKA: The Education Ministry has appointed Fouzia, an officer on special duty of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) as the principal of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College.

Secondary and Higher Education Department of the ministry issued a notification on Sunday (September 15).

The BCS (Education) cadre's appointment to a private education institute is unusual. Acting principal has been running Viqarunnisa for about ten years. 

However, ministry officials said the BCS cadre officer has been appointed to uphold the tradition of the institution.

On December 7, 2018, Viqarunnisa Noon School & College has appointed Hasina Begum, one of its college section assistant professors, as its acting principal two days after Nazneen Ferdous stepped down on face of agitation over student Aritree Adhikari’s alleged suicide.
