The admission tests for the first-year honours programmes under the 2020-21 academic session of Jahangirnagar University has begun today (Nov 9) with the admission test under the ‘D’ unit for the Faculty of Biological Sciences.

The entrance tests under nine units will end on November 21 with the ‘A’ unit admission test for the Faculty of Mathematics and Physical Sciences.

The test started at around 9:00 am by holding 'D' unit exam will continuing till 5:00 pm.

The admission test was held in 5 shifts where around 7000 students participated in each shift.

This year, the JU authorities cut the marks and time short considering the pandemic situation. Strict hygiene rules are being maintained in all of the centres.

Meanwhile, the university authorities shifted 'A' unit exam to November 20 and 21 which was scheduled to be held on November 7 and 8 due to the recent transport strike protesting hike of oil price.

About 163 students fight for each seat on average in this year's entrance tests under nine units as 3,08,606 applications have been submitted against 1,889 seats under six faculties and three institutes.
