BSFMSTU day observed

The authorities of Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib Science & Technology University (BSFMSTU) on Saturday celebrated the ‘University Day’ marking its 3rd founding anniversary on the campus amid festive mood.

Marking the day, BSFMSTU wore a festive look with the participation of students, teachers, employees and officials with colorful banners, balloons, and festoons.

Alhaz Mirza Azam, MP and chairman of parliamentary standing committee on textiles and jute ministry, Vice chancellor Prof Dr. Syed Samsuddin Ahmed inaugurated the program by hoisting the national flag and releasing balloons in front of the Administrative Building of the university at 10.00 am.

In the inaugural speech, Prof Syed Samsuddin Ahmed greeted university teachers, students, officers, employees and the students of the University.

Treasurer Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Ad. Muhammad Baki billah, Zila Parisad Chairman Faruk Ahmmed Chawdhury, Jamalpur Pourasova Mayor Sanuwar Hossain Sanu, Melandah Upazila Parisad Chairman Eng. Md. Kamruzzaman, Registrar Khandkar Hamidur Rahman were present at the inaugural session among others. Assistant Professor of BSFMSTU Dr AHM Mahbubur Rahman conducted the programme.

Later, led by Prof Dr Samsuddin Ahmed a colorful procession was brought out from the Administrative Building premises. The procession paraded through the main streets of the campus. The procession ended at the same ground.

The daylong programme included a discussion meeting, cultural function organized by university authority at the stage of the university playground.

BSFMSTU was founded on 28 November, 2017. It formally began its academic activities on March 31, 2019, with four departments, 16 teachers, 128 students.
