Actor Zahid Hasan hospitalised

Popular actor Zahid Hasan has been admitted to a hospital in the capital as he was suffering from severe asthma.

According to a source close to the actor, the artiste went to Nepal for the shooting of a drama on 10 January. He fell ill after 7 days in Nepal. After completing the shooting, Zahid Hasan returned to Bangladesh on 17 January.

Then, he went to the hospital for a routine check-up after. After seeing his physical condition, the doctor advised him to be admitted to the hospital. He is currently receiving treatment at that hospital.

Born on 4 October 1967 in Sirajganj, Zahid Hasan is well known for his comedic roles in television serials and dramas. His debut drama was ‘Jibon Jemon’, which was telecast in 1990.

He was part of a theatre group for several years before moving to television. He took the lead in the BTV adaptation of Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘Shomapti’ and the protagonist in ‘Bichchhu’. While he made his first film appearance in 1986, his most notable role was in 2000’s ‘Srabon Megher Din’, for which he won a National Award.
