‘300: Rise of an Empire’ in 3D at Star Cineplex

DHAKA: Star Cineplex arranged the Dhaka-premiere of ‘300: Rise of an Empire’ in 3D at its halls at Bashundhara City Shopping Mall in city’s Panthapath area.

The show of this Hollywood action, drama and fantasy blockbuster movie was held on Thursday evening.

The movie will be screened at 11:00am, 1:05pm, 3:10pm, 5:20pm, and 7:30pm everyday from Friday onwards.

‘300: Rise of an Empire’, a 2014 film, is directed by Noam Murro and performed by Lena Headey, Rodrigo Santoro, David Wenham, Andrew Tiernan, Andrew Pleavin and Peter Mensah reprising their roles from the first film, alongside Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, Hans Matheson, Callan Mulvey, and Jack O’Connell. It is a follow-up to the 2007 film ‘300’, taking place before, during, and after the events of that and based on the ‘Battle of Salamis’.

The movie is based on the as-yet-unreleased Frank Miller graphic novel Xerxes. Zack Snyder, who directed and co-wrote the original film, acts as writer and producer on Rise of an Empire.

The film received mixed reviews and was a box office success, grossing over $330 million worldwide, says Wikipedia.
