DHAKA: Timothy Spall has lifted the best actor prize at the Cannes Film Festival, for his role as the eponymous artists in Mike Leigh’s Turner.

‘I’ve spent a lot of time being a bridesmaid...this is the first time I’ve been a bride,’ he joked, reports the BBC.

Turner, the story of British artist JMW Turner, had been tipped for an award, after being lauded by critics.
