DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Thursday fixed January 27, 2015 as the hearing date of framing charges against singer Arfin Rumi in a case filed by his first wife Lamia Islam Ananya.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Anwar Sadat placed the fixed the date.

The plaintiff, Ananya, confirmed the matter to banglanews.

On May 18, Metropolitan Magistrate Keshab Roy Chowdhury granted bail to Rumi.

The case was filed on April 30, accusing Arfin Rumi for marrying the second time without taking permission of the first wife or any Salish Parishad, which is a crime as per section 6(5)(B) of the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance, 1961.

Ananya filed another case against Rumi with Mohammadpur Thana under Women & Children Repression Prevention Act.

Later, Rumi got conditional bail on October 12, 2013.
