DHAKA: Eminent artist Mustafa Monwar commented that late artist Qayyum Chowdhury was the first successful cover artist in Bangladesh.

He told banglanews while came to pay his tribute to the deceased artist at Fine Arts Institute of Dhaka University on Monday.

Mustafa Monwar further said that Qayyum had the quality of being a successful cover artist. He was the first successful cover artist in the country.

He further said that the deceased artist opened a new horizon in the arena of cover art in the country.

Qayyum adapted the philosophy of modern arts. His book covers reflect the stories inside.

Besides, Qayyum used to draw pictures as clear as mirrors. He used to collect old artworks and developed new idea for new artworks.

Monwar commented that we cannot say that Qayyum had passed away. He will live for a long in the life of Bangalis and in the history of Bangla especially through his cover works.
