DHAKA: A 33-artist team of popular Chinese Gansu Opera House is set to visit Dhaka for performing here for six days on the eve of New Year.

The artists will attend a soiree and exhibition titled ‘Charm of Silk Road’ to be held from December 31 to January 5, 2015.

Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Chinese embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and Bangladesh-China Friendship Centre (BCFC) are jointly organizing the event.

BCFC president M Delwar Hossain was talking to journalists at the National Press Club on Thursday.

Delwar Hossain, however, further said the programmes to observe the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Bangladesh and China would kick off through a presentation of Gansu Opera House at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on February 2 of 2015.

He also said the number of internet users in Bangladesh would be equal of those in India as China has provided loan in a low interest rate in this regard.
