Chashi Nazrul’s namaz-e-janaza held at Baitul Mukarram

FROM BAITUL MUKARRAM PREMISES: The fourth namaz-e-janaza of ‘Ora Egaro Jon’ famed filmmaker Chashi Nazrul Islam was held after the Zohar prayers at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in city.

Earlier, body of this national award winning filmmaker was brought to the mosque at 12:27pm after his third namaz-e-janaza that was held on Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) premises on Monday morning.

A ‘Guard of Honor’ was given to this filmmaker at the BFDC in presence of information minister Hasanul Haq Inu and cultural minister Asdauzzaman Noor.

Chashi, who also won ‘Ekushey Padak’, will be buried at his family graveyard at Samashpur village in Munshiganj.

However, he died at the age of 73 at 6:00am on January 11 at Labaid Hospital in city after battling cancer for a long time.
