DHAKA: An evening of cultural program will be held at Shawkat Osman Smriti Auditorium of Central Public Library on Friday celebrating the 116th birth anniversary of music maestro Sailajaranjan Majumdar.

An evening of Rabindra Sangeet titled ‘Barshamangal’ will also be held to mark the day at the same venue. 

The program, scheduled to begin at 5.30pm, will be organized by ‘Chhayanika’ in collaboration with Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre Dhaka.

Eminent artists from India Asish Kumar Bhattacharjee, Suchhanda Ghosh, Ritashree Bhattacharjee and Manashi Bhattacharjee and from Bangladesh Salma Akbar, Nilotpal Sadhya, Mita Pal and Sanjukta Das will sing at the event.
 
Finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith will attend the occasion as chief guest. Secretary of President Secretariat Bhuiyan Safiul Islam and Viswabharati University former vice-chancellor Dr Sujit Kumar Basu will be special guests.

Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre informed the matter through a press release issued on Thursday.

The soiree will be free to all.
