KOLKATA: The five-day theater fest-2016 is set to kick off in Indian city of Kolkata on Friday night.

The curtain will rise on the festival through presentation of drama directed by Suresh Bharaddaj presented by National School of Drama of India at Ahindramancha, ICCR around 6:00am.

Theme music of the Odeum Festival’ 16 that is to be held from 8th-12th January was unveiled in a program at Kolkata Press Club on Thursday (January 7).

Eminent personalities, including Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee and film director Ritobrata Bandopadaya were present at the program.

Popular plays of the theatre groups of India and also from Bangladesh will be staged at Ahindramancha, ICCR and science city theaters in Kolkata under the direction of F3 Incorporation from January 8 to 12.

National School of Drama, Mukund Deshpande’s Mumbai Natyadal and Mahesh Bhatt’s group of India and Drishtipat Natya Sangstha of Bangladesh will take part in the festival.

Several renowned theatre groups of Kolkata will also attend the festival.

Drishtipat will stage the play ‘Buro Bhuter Golpa’, directed by Baidyanath Ray.
