Screenplay writer Joseph no more

DHAKA: Country’s noted movie screenplay writer Joseph Shatabdi breathed his last at his Sirajganj residence early Thursday (September 7).

He was 62.

Joseph left behind his wife, two sons, one daughter and many well wishers.

The screenwriter had been suffering from a rare type of cancer for a long time and was under treatment at Khaja Yunus Hospital at Enayetpur of Sirajganj.

He wrote scripts of many Bengali films like Dadi Ma, Chachu, Mayer Hate Behester Chabi, Pitar Asan, Dharma Amar Ma, Asman Jamin, Qurbani, Matir Durgo, Sujon Bandhu, Asami Hajir etc.

Filming of his last script, Sada Kalo Prem, is underway under the direction of Shah Alam Mandal.

Family sources said Joseph will be buried to familial graveyard at Rahmatganj at Sirajganj after the Asar prayers on Thursday.
