DHAKA: Noted lyricist, composer and music director Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul’s health condition is improving after surgeons inserted two rings in his heart suffering multiple blocks, said his son Samir Ahmed.

According to reports published in news media, Bulbul underwent a heart surgery under the care of National Heart Institute director Afzalur Rahman on Saturday (June 2).

Bulbul was admitted there on Thursday (May 31). 

When contacted with his son Samir on Sunday, he said “My father is recovering and feeling a lot better than before.”

Earlier on May 17, Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul disclosed his illness through a facebook post where he mentioned his mental sufferings as well due to the long illness. 

As the matter drew Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s attention, she took responsibility for the treatment of Bulbul.

Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul is a lyricist, composer and music director. He worked in around 300 films and received country’s highest awards such as Ekushey Padak, National Film Award, President Award and much more. During the 1971 liberation war, Bulbul took part in the war at age of 15.
