Brazilian, Bangladeshi tie knot after love on Facebook Hiru and juliana

COMILLA: Have you found your love on Facebook, if not, then get to know who have found, got hitched, and lived happily ever after.

Love, relationship on social networking sites are common phenomena now-a-days. Bangladesh, having a satellite, 4G, or MNP service, is not lagging behind in any sphere where modern world is competing with one another.

Hiru, a resident of Laksam Upazila of Comilla, met Juliana, who is from Brazil, at an English Language Learning centre in Bahrain on July 6, 2012.

Hiru flew to Bahrain to earn his livelihood while studying in the final year of his B.A in Political Science at Madan Mohan College in Sylhet.

With the blessing of Facebook, two people, coming from totally different cultures and religions, came in touch, and started clicking ‘Like’ button of each other’s Facebook walls.  

Gradually, this ‘Like sharing’ phase developed into exchange of messages, chatting, and finally turned into love.

Two love birds, in order to cement their relationship, started talking about tying the knot. Juliana, after consulting with her father Markos Jianing about marriage, decided to come to Bangladesh.

And the father and daughter came to Bangladesh eventually on Oct 31. Hiru and his relatives welcomed at the airport, with due warthvery warmly.

Abdur Rab Hiru told Banglanews: “Juliana converted to Islam at a kazi office in Dhaka’s Kakrail area. We got married at Tk 5 lakh mahr. Later, we rented an apartment in Mirpur-2 area of the capital. Last week, I came to my village home along with Juliana and her father. We’re happy. Juliana has started speaking some Bangla now. Our family is very happy about this relationship.

The marriage of the couple, coming in contact with each other from two far distant continents, is the talk of Dokhaia village of the upazila. Folks, of surrounding villages, flock to get a glimpse of Hiru’s exotic wife.

Abul Khayer, Hiru’s father, arranged a wedding feast for 300 people to receive his youngest son’s wife on November 1. Juliana’s father expressed his joy by riding rickshaw in driver’s seat.
