Suraloy, a UK based leading Bengali music organization, is featuring a legendary Bengali singer Haimanti Sukla as part of its Facebook live series. 

Being broadcasted on this Saturday 8 August at 2pm (UK time), this exceptional musical session will entail educational stories, musical anecdotes by one of the leading Bengali singers in Indian subcontinent. 

Singer Gouri Chowdhury, the founder of Suraloy said, "This is an extremely happy moment for myself and Suraloy to have Haimanti di, the living legend in a musical adda with Suraloy. I have been a firm admirer of Haimanti di since I was a child. I am sure this musical adda will bring forth some memorable and breathtaking moments for our online audiences and followers in social media."

Led and founded by Gouri Chowdhury, one of the leading and versatile interpreters of Indian music outside Indian subcontinent,  living in Europe, Suraloy is widely known for its vast range of musical activities in East London. Under Gouri Chowdhury’s dynamic direction, the students of Suraloy and many non-Indian young learners had preformed first of its kind Bengali-folk-choir in the Royal Festival Hall at Southbank Centre, known as the cultural village of Europe.

As a true ambassador of Indian subcontinental music in the West, Gouri Chowdhury has been performing for the last 35 years in prestigious venues in Europe, America, Canada which include Royal Albert Hall, Royel Festival Hall etc. Through her mind-blowing performances, she drew the attention of many maestros of Indian and global music, was blessed by Pt. Ravi Shankar, George Harrison etc. and was praised by diverse audiences all across the world.
