A Dhaka court has summoned three persons, including cricketer Nasir Hossain and his wife Tamima Sultana Tammi in a case filed against them.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jashim issued the summon on Thursday after an arrest warrant plea against them has been filed.

Earlier in the morning, Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) submitted its investigation report accusing Nasir Hossain and Tamima Sultana of tying the knot illegally.

PBI inspector and also investigating officer in the case Mizanur Rahman submitted the report to the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim on Thursday (Sep 30).

The PBI claimed to have got authenticity of the allegation made by Tamima Sultana’s former husband Rakib Hasan that she married the cricketer before divorcing him.    

Another woman named Sumi Akter is named in the report submitted by the PBI to the court Thursday morning.

Earlier, a Dhaka court asked PBI to investigate a case filed against Nasir Hossain and his newlywed wife Tamima Sultana.

Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Md Jashim passed the order after taking cognizance of the case filed by Rakib.

According to case statement, Tamima got married to Rakib Hasan on February 26, 2011 and they have an eight-year-old daughter.

Tamima, a cabin crew of Saudia Airlines, had been in KSA due to COVID-19 since March 10, 2020. She got married to Nasir on February 24.
